\n How does Satellite Internet work?<\/label><\/p>\n

The Hughesnet process begins when you try to access a webpage. Your request is sent to a satellite 22,000 miles in space, which then beams to the Hughes Network Operations Center (NOC). The NOC locates the specific website you have requested which then gets beamed back to the NOC, to the satellite, and then to your computer through the dish and modem. \n What is required for installation?<\/label><\/p>\n

If you have a clean view of the southern sky and compatible computer you are ready for Hughesnet Internet to be installed!<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
\n What does the installation process look like?<\/label><\/p>\n
\n
The installation process will begin with a certified installer coming to your location and determining the best placement for the satellite dish. With either a wall or roof mounted bracket the dish will be mounted to the agreed upon structure. The structure must be at minimum 4 feet off the ground.<\/p>\n
After the satellite installation, a coaxial cable jack will be installed in the room that will be housing your Hughesnet system. Two exterior RG-6 coaxial cables will then be routed from the satellite to the newly installed cable jack.<\/p>\n
At this point you now have satellite internet! Before leaving, the installer will check the satellite signal and make sure everything is in working order.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
\n How quickly will I be able to use the service?<\/label><\/p>\n
\n
Often, the option for next day installation will be available to you. Have your sales representative check availability while you are placing your order. After installation you will be able to immediately use the service.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
\n What non-professional installation items are not covered in my plan?<\/label><\/p>\n
\n
Not covered under your service plan:<\/p>\n

The installation and configuration of a wireless\/hard wired router for your computer\/network.<\/li>\n
Customization during the installation process that requires the purchase of special materials such as molding or hardware to cover exposed cables.<\/li>\n
Removal, repair, or the building of structures to hide any part of the Hughesnet system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Although these things are not covered in your service plan you can contact your independent certified installer and inquire if any of these enhancements can be purchased through them directly. All of the non-professional costs will be handled direct through the installer.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
